“The Little Biker Magazine & Web Site that has it all”
Small enough to keep with you or on your bike

Shawn Demeritt and Jennifer Knourek

We would love to get to know you better but we'll start out by letting you get to know us.

Shawn is a Union Local 93 Plumber and has been in the industry for over 25 years. He has been here in the Midwest for the past 20 years or so and also did plumbing when he lived down in Arizona. He's been riding since he was a boy, back east in Rochester NH. He had a decent spill on a Honda VF 1100. Even after several months in the hospital and lost ribs at the age of 19, it didn't stop him from riding. Older wiser and more handsome than ever, Shawn got his current custom Fat Boy from a private party over a year ago when we met and we have been riding and dreaming ever since.

I ride a 1997 Heritage Springer Softail and have been a HOG member since 2000. I rode horses when I was a girl and when I got my first bike in '98, a Honda 750 Nighthawk, riding a motorcycle was like riding a bike. I rode a friend's Softail three weeks later and upgraded to my current bike before I had 100 miles on the Nighthawk. My FLSTS came to me from a friend who brought it up from the HD Kansas City Plant where they were produced. This bike has always gotten me home, and I will most likely always have it, but it certainly won't be my last.

We have really come to know and love the ride, be it sport, custom, cruiser, duro-sport, off-road, racetrack or what ever. Two wheels are very therapeutic for us. Day rides and weekend trips are our bread and butter. I have always said that even a cloudy day on a motorcycle is better than a sunny day on the golf course... But if you have to explain it, they just won't get it. Right !?

I've been a Director of Marketing for an Accounting and Payroll Firm in Antioch, IL for the past couple of years and will continue to work with the firm. Both Shawn and I have both remodeled a house or two and we both have great kids and pare of spoiled dogs and a cat that keep us entertained. We live in Antioch, on the state line in Illinois, just south of Kenosha and we have property in the Dells area. And are fortunate to have friends in both places who ride and many who don't. They all have been very supportive of our developing this area for the magazine, even the cat.
Antioch is a great recreational area just west of Gurnee, we are a little over an hour's ride out of Chicago, Milwaukee or Madison and have spent a good part of our time investigating all of the other back-roads and highways our two states have to offer. I have been out to Sturgis and Colorado with my bike and we're looking forward to getting out to more of the Rally's in our States. We've met some incredible people from all over the country and the world, these past couple of years. And with the magazine we hope to meet more of you.

A bit about how we got started... We came upon an incredible free publication when we were in Phoenix this year for the Super Bowl and knew immediately we wanted to bring it to our riding area.

This was by far the best regional specific publication we had ever come across, with useful reader content and it was convenient enough to keep with you on your bike so you can make good use of it. The magazine has full-page, color, glossy, advertisements and clear content to find ride information and events and great articles about day-rides and tech tips and local businesses.

We found out that Biker Information Guide has 11 years of success in support, promotion and sponsorship not only to it's advertisers but to it readers as well. Kimmy Chapman and the magazine in Arizona has had years of experience with organizing and sponsoring bike shows and tattoo contests and has a great reputation with national and manufacturing advertisers. The national web site is interactive and updated frequently and bikerinformationguide.com receives over 27,000 visits per day!!! This type of publication really provides additional value and benefits to the local establishments and shops that advertise with the magazine.

............ Our first publication will be released in August & September - a "Special Addition" celebrating the summer and all of the riders who will be in our area for the HD 105th Birthday Party.

We're pretty confident you'll like what you see. As with most free magazines and paper publications, we distributed to riders. Watch for us at events or better yet invite us to attend your event and we'll get photos on the web site and help you promote for future events. Our magazine is focused on you, the rider, it is your interests, your favorite rides and your events we are here to support and share with others. We welcome your feedback and comments now and when we are in production.

Keep riding, be safe and enjoy everyday your alive...

Don't forget the magazine is for you so let us know what you think and what you would like to see.
